Day trip to Ballarat

About a month ago during the Queen’s Birthday long weekend, me and a couple of mates ventured to the west; Ballarat Wildlife Park for a bit of a day trip. It was about one and half hour drive from Melbourne. For those who have never been to this park, it’s basically a small zoo which holds mostly Australian animals such as the famous Kangaroos, Koalas, Wombats, as well as Tasmanian Devils. You can even pet some of these animals, especially the Kangaroos because they are all set free in this park (check out the mischievous joey in one of the photos below).

Anyway, here are some of the photos to show what our day was like.

And then on the way back, we stopped by a beautiful barn yard with sheep and a horse. It was a private property, but Dessy was bravely enough to knock on their door and requested for permission for us to take photos of their sheep and horse. The owner’s reaction was ‘You guys must be really bored to want to take photos of our sheep’. They have the cutest, most active pup I’ve ever seen. Wish I could have one of those too someday.

After leaving the farm, my GPS took a detour to a very obscure small country road on our way back to Melbourne. Interestingly, the road became really foggy and we pulled over and started taking more photos. It was probably the highlight of the day for me for that trip.
